A hot chocolate bomb is a sphere-shaped chocolate treat that is filled with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows or other sweet treats. When placed in a mug of hot milk, the heat from the milk causes the chocolate shell to melt and release the contents inside, creating a delicious and creamy hot chocolate. Hot chocolate bombs are a fun and easy way to make a special treat for yourself or for others, and they can be customized with different flavors and fillings to suit your taste.

Ingredients:

To make hot chocolate bombs at home, you will need:

  • Chocolate molds
  • Chocolate chips (dark, milk, or white chocolate can be used)
  • Hot cocoa mix
  • Mini marshmallows or other treats (optional)
Directions:
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals. Stir it in between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into the chocolate molds, making sure to coat the entire surface evenly. Tap the molds gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
  • Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.
  • Once the chocolate is hardened, gently remove the chocolate shells from the molds.
  • Fill the chocolate shells with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows or other treats, if desired.
  • Place the filled chocolate shells back in the refrigerator for a few more minutes to allow them to fully harden.
  • To use the hot chocolate bombs, place one in a mug and pour hot milk over it. The heat from the milk will cause the chocolate shell to melt, releasing the hot cocoa mix and treats inside.

You can experiment with different flavors and fillings for your hot chocolate bombs, such as using flavored chocolate or adding nuts or dried fruit to the filling. Enjoy!
