Just because it’s a classic recipe doesn’t make it a basic. Chocolate Cream Pie is a perfect dessert for Christmas and new year celebration. This is going to be one my thanksgiving recipes. Check out the recipe and instructions below. Enjoy !!!
Ingredients
- 1 Economy Size Chocolate Bar (7 oz.)
- 2½ cups milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
- ½ cup cream, whipped
Instructions
Step 1
Break chocolate bar into small pieces and heat with the milk in a double boiler. Beat with egg beater until thoroughly blended.
Step 2
Add dry ingredients; sugar, salt and flour, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Cook an additional 10-12 minutes.
Step 3
Beat in egg yolks and cook for 2 minutes more. Remove from fire.
Step4
Stir in butter, add vanilla, cool.
Step 5
Beat egg whites and fold into chocolate mixture.
Step 6
Pour into baked pie shell. Garnish with fresh whipped cream. It’s done.
